Hey guys,Been doing some modelling this morning. Got some gas pumps done, thanks for the reference dan! Also started a crane in the background to add some more depth to the environment. Could you guys let me know what you think of the composition of the buildings etc. If you feel things would look better in a different place, let me know.

ReplyDeleteNothing really jumps out and says `this needs changing` it's looking pretty good, but if I'm nit picking then:
1. As I just said to you on the phone, that building on the far side of the petrol station should maybe be moved further from it a bit.
2. The water tower thing looks a bit jarrin` it might just be that the building it's on is not finished yet though. I'm not sure how to explain it but since it's just up there by itself with nothing behind it my eye gets drawn to it.
3. The telephone wires are kind of fat and on telephone poles there are usually more than one wire.
4. try switching round that crane and the big building to the right. I'm imagining since this is the outskirts of a city that the buildings would be thining out on the right of this image so having the big building on the left would make it more toward the centre of the city. The crane would then perhaps be building something on the outskirts as the city expands?
Anyway like I said all that stuff is nit-picking it's looking dope man, keep it up.
Yeh... the wires on the poles are too fat... look about the same size as the post :p
ReplyDeleteJust a thought... maybe a sign on the road for drivers.... coz it looks as if the road is totally bear.
I see what JC is talking bout with the water tower.... doesn't really fit atm.
Also... I imagined the petrol station to be a bit further away as well as you already mentioned.
Thanks for the comments guys. Yeh its probably because its not yet finished, like you said. The water tower is abit distracting, needs to be moved or made smaller. The gas station I'll move around so it has more space. I will also play around with the other buildings and crane to see what looks best.
ReplyDeleteTake a few screenshots and then show everyone... then you can get comments on different things and people might hav different points of view... plus that shows Mike you have been thinking about hte staging side of the production rather than just building it up with no idea what ur doing!
