    Haha, in the end I found the part for the whole case without the outliner and translated it back to 0. Then managed to unparent it from there and it decided to work.

    Yo man thanks for the lengthy message below, sorry for like having a million and one problems. When I touch animation it's like the fabric of timespace rips apart.
